1&1 Internet claims to be one of the world's largest web hosting companies and the third-largest domain registrar in the world. In my opinion they have achieved this through fraudulent business practices in which they lock clients into auto-renewal contracts. This is partically back up by the thousands of complaints you will find posted online.

The purpose of this site is to expose these fraudulent business practices and to let people know what they can do if they experience them.

• First and foremost 1&1's Internet is known for their billing issues. The classic "Auto_renewal" scam in which a clients account is locked so they can not trasfer there domain before the registration is due is common. They often claim a bug in their system but the bugs seem to always favor them. They are quick to lock your account and send your account to a collection agency.
• 1&1's order prcocess is NOT automated and as a result things are not done at the time of purchase. There is at least a 24/48 hour delay. This also means that the price you are billed my not be the price quoted and AGREED too.
• 1&1's first line of support seems to be an outsourced call center most likely in India. As a result they don't seem to be able to answer any real questions or do anything themself. Again, if you ask the same question twice you will get two different answers from their tech support. They are useless. Even when they claim your request has been escalated you can never get an update as to the status. They don't seem to have a tracking system or at least they do not give out tracking numbers.
